Dorian Friedman is the Director of Communications and Government Relations with Corporate Voices for Working Families. Joining Corporate Voices in December 2009, she is part of a team overseeing public policy formation that serves the varied needs of employers, working families, and the next generation of America’s workers.
Over the years, Dorian has been fortunate to hold positions that reflect her deep interest in both journalism and public policy. Most recently, she was an Editor and Director of External Relations at The American Prospect, a monthly magazine of public affairs and culture. Earlier in her career, she spent a decade as a reporter and editor for U.S. News & World Report, where she covered social policy trends, politics and human interest stories. In between, she was Vice President for Policy at The Welfare to Work Partnership, a nonpartisan effort of the nation’s business community to hire economically disadvantaged Americans. In that position, she oversaw the organization’s government affairs activities and outreach to members of Congress, federal agencies and governors.
Dorian holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Politics from Brandeis University, and a Master’s Degree in Journalism from Columbia University.
