Initiatives Echo Key Theme in the State of the Union Address

(Nov. 18, 2009) — Corporate Voices for Working Families and Working Mother Media will present U.S. Senators and members of the U.S. House of Representatives with the Best of Congress award, recognizing their leadership in improving the quality of life for working families by partnering with business to create long-term solutions to work-life issues. Winners will be profiled in the August/September 2010 issue of Working Mother Magazine.

Washington, DC (May 7, 2009) — Corporate Voices for Working Families (CVWF) and the American Business Collaboration (ABC) support legislation introduced today that, if passed, would make child care more affordable to working families.

Representatives John Yarmuth (D-KY), Sam Johnson (R-TX), Linda Sanchez (D-CA) and Peter Roskam (R-IL) introduced H.R. 2298 to amend the Internal Revenue Code to increase dependent care flexible spending account (DCFSA) limits.

Washington, DC – Corporate Voices for Working Families announced today that it has launched an initiative to help solve a problem facing many working mothers, especially those in hourly and lower-wage positions – the need for breastfeeding support in the workplace. In partnership with Abbott Nutrition, Working Mother Media and a select group of companies, this new program aims to give employers the information and tools they need to reach hourly and lower-wage workers and help establish workplace lactation programs.
